Yesterday was a day filled with purpose and connection as a meaningful CSR tree-planting event unfolded in the heart of Jali Sector, Gasabo District. Under a bright sky, Multilines International, in partnership with DHL Global Forwarding-MEA, came together with the community of Kigarama Village to plant the seeds of a healthier, greener future.

The event, held as part of DHL Global Forwarding-MEA’s team-building activities in Rwanda, was a testament to the power of collaboration and shared values. Among the participants was the Deputy Group CEO of Multilines International, who was deeply moved by the spirit of the Kigarama Village community. Their warmth, dedication, and enthusiasm for the initiative shone brightly, reflecting their commitment to fostering positive change.

As the fruit trees were carefully planted into the soil, the Deputy Group CEO shared a heartfelt appreciation for the impact such efforts bring. “Fruit trees play a vital role in promoting healthier lives through better nutrition,” he remarked. The participation and excitement of the residents, particularly the women of the village, further underscored the significance of this initiative. For them, the trees symbolized hope—a promise of improved nutrition for their children, healthier growth, and better opportunities for education.

Elloise Naidoo, Head of Delegation for DHL Global Forwarding – MEA, also expressed her joy in being part of the event. She highlighted how this activity aligns seamlessly with DHL’s global commitment to sustainability through initiatives such as Global Volunteer Day. With passion and conviction, she emphasized the importance of tree planting as a means to protect the environment and enhance nutrition, particularly for underprivileged children worldwide.

The smiles and optimism among the villagers painted a vivid picture of the positive impact the event had already begun to foster. Women spoke of how these fruit trees would nourish their children, enabling them to thrive both physically and academically.
